Turns out the ranked player was no more problem than the unranked player!
QR2: Daniel Manlow UNR beat (q5) Killian Davanzo (SUI) WR 1998 by 0 & 1
FQR: Daniel Manlow UNR v Alexis Álvarez Varas (MEX) UNR
In QR2, the 14-year-old Mexican thrashed a 51-year-old Canadian, who managed to win just 1 game. However, that was 1 more than he had managed to win in all 6 of his previous attempts at Futures qualifying over the last 5 years put together! LOL
Daniel's QR1 opponent looks like a spring chicken compared to the Canadian - he was just 38 The 17-year-old Daniel beat today is only the second ranked player he has beaten but not a career best scalp.

Trouble with an ATP "ranked player" is that can just mean one point from one MD win against a player of dubious ability as seems to be the case here with Davanzo.
There is something to be said for the WTA''s 3 scoring tournaments or 10 points criteria, although not a lot to be said for how they dish out points for MD WCs in 25Ks and above and indeed QR1 losses in some of the higher rated tournaments.
Anyway, still another thumping win for Daniel and good luck to him in his FQR match.
Qualifies dropping just four games, dishing out five bakery products including three bagels.
There Steven, I just wrote your tweet for you. ;)
LOL thanks - I'm afraid I tried to find a way to get all that, the fact that it was his first Futures main draw and a credit to you in there and failed dismally - hope you don't mind that I changed it a bit but used most of it.
Anyway, good for him - he won two qualifying rounds in each of his previous two Futures, so this has been coming and I imagine the qualifying draw here was a lot weaker than the ones in Florida and Texas where he only just came up short.

The draw has got significantly stronger with the addition of top seed Dancevic and 3rd seed Peliwo as wild cards but the top three Brits here are all seeded in the top 6:
L32: (5) Ed Corrie WR 329 v Eric Quigley (USA) WR 580 (CH 489 in Aug) (*)
L32: (Q) Daniel Manlow UNR v Hugo di Feo (CAN) WR 951 (CH 950 in Feb)
L32: (4) Dan Smethurst WR 305 v Fritz Wolmarans (RSA) WR 619 (CH 198 in 2011)
L32: (6) Richard Gabb WR 430 v (Q) Stephen Stege (USA) UNR
(*) H2H 1-2 but Ed won their last meeting 3 & 3 in Champaign last November

Wish Mr Corrie hadn't drawn one of the more dangerous floaters. Other than that, generally draw looks rather decent for all parties (including the qualifier!) until the quarters, and quite nice generally for Mr Smethurst (assuming Wolmarans doesn't have flashes of his old form).

Damn 180 character limit.
Haha that's ok, I was only using the template you use (or have used) with regards to a Brit storming through qualifying/a draw in the past.
Winnable R1 for Daniel as well, although pretty sure Di Feo was a top 10 junior a year or two ago (or pretty close to being one).
