Dan and Ed make the main draw in Canada. Richrad Gabb is only 5 out so, if there are SE places to clear he may also make it, or be a top seed. I understand why they cut challengers in the UK but to my mind, we are crying out ofor some to be reinstated now.

The irony here is that with so many withdrawals qualifying will be as poor as you will find for challenger and Dan and Ed would surely have came through therefore you could see this as them losing points. Seeded players in qualifying will be ranked as low as 600.

No necessarily - you don't have to be on the entry list to sign in for qualifying.

If they make the semis this week in the futures, they would have been unable to playing qualifying for the challenger, so I'm sure they are very happy they have made the main draw.

As I expected he might, Dan Cox's twitter says he is going to Rimouski, so he will be signing in for qualies there.

Dan Cox is already in the main draw.

I suspect that Dan and Ed have rather more concerns and ambitions than looking for such ranking points as there are from winning through qualifying in a challenger.

I know that but it will be close for the coveted 250 spot by June especially for Dan 3-5 points may make a difference. Just an observation.

Im aware of that but there are a lot of withdrawals from qualifying so unlikely we ll see many ranked above 500 that aren't seeded.

If anyone is still worrying whether the left knee problem is genuine ...

The knee isn't the reason why Evo tweeted the pic, but it sneaked in there anyway!

I take your point Jaggy but, with only the 3pts availible and 3 matches in 2 days to play (if a full draw) I bet most players would opt for the direct entrant.  Whilst on that subject, Richard now just two spots out, not sure if SE places have been cleared or not yet????

Richard is second alt, but i suspect the Columbian ahead of him may opt for Panama as he is still entered there.

The main draw doesn't look that strong - on entry list rankings, just 8 players inside top 200. Great chance for our boys to make an impact.

Does anyone know why James decided not to play Miami.

It appears that Richard is safe and sound in the Rimouski MD. Qualies draw is out and no sign of him, and a lower ranked player is q1. I assume that's how things panned out anyway!

Hi Helen - I don't know if this answers your question, or if you were after a reasoning for his choice, but he is a direct acceptance for Panama challenger
