After 22 years + 8 days of disgraceful on-court behaviour, I finally received my 1st EVER code violation...for "delay of game"?? #goodoneref
No idea what led to the code violation but I am not remotely surprised that it is his first. Richard really is one of the good guys out there.
Jonny tweeted earlier in the day that at the end of the first set in Richard's singles match, the ball went through a hole in the net and the umpire gave the point to his opponent, so maybe it was that argument afterwards that delayed the game LOL
However, the fact that Richard tweeted that so late in the day perhaps suggests it happened in doubles.
Either way, I like the implication that his disgraceful on-court behaviour started on the day he was born
It must be quite a feat to avoid any kind of code violation for that long, even if it's not actually for the whole 22 years!

It is a sad indictment that you think, understandably in many ways, that doing so is "quite a feat".
I'm certainly not a fan of players playing up and being unreasonable on court but given the number of things you can get a code violation for, I'd imagine most players would have had at least one by the time they are out of their teens.
