I didn't like the look of these draws, and thought the newly returned Sam might struggle. Hopefully she can turn this around from *2-5

Sam looked a little rusty last week but played well enough - she'll be aiming for a better showing than this. Lost the first set 6-2. Got an instant break but that's hardly conclusive . . .

Decent effort by Emily but no Brits left in singles here:

L32: Emily Webley-Smith WR 423 lost to (5) Noppawan Lertcheewakarn (THA) WR 222 (CH 149 in 2011) by 5 & 3
L32: (6) Samantha Murray WR 232 lost to Varatchaya Wongteanchai (THA) WR 436 (CH 212 last Jun) by 2 & 3

No suprise with Sam, not played much and then travelled Hungary - Midland - New Delhi within a week. No way she would have acclimatised

Sadly that's where the story ends, as they lost today to the Thai pairing, Lertpitaksinchai & Plipuech, [6-10] in the MTB, from a set up.
