Just looking at the points to defend - Dan S only has 1pt to defend in the next month, so likely to progress close or into the top 300.

Ed has 36pts to defend in the next month, so 18pts here would do very nicely.

I want Ed to win this week now.

Dan went a set and a break down but has just broken back in the 2nd. Another Dan is taking an interest too:

Me: "2nd seed Dan is facing a battle to retain a chance of reaching 5 singles finals in a row, 3-6 *2-4 down to Arvidsson SWE"

Evo: "@GBtennis still think @dansmethurst90 will win"

Me: "@Evo151216 @dansmethurst90 Yes, it wouldn't be his first good comeback this year either! "

Good to see the Brits believing in each other

And would you believe it... from *2-4

He holds to love, breaks to 40, holds to 15, breaks to 40 to take the set 6-4

Now at 4-6 6-4 3-2*

Another good win for Luke that. Expect him to be one of the biggest risers this year.

Broady and Cluskey cruising in the doubles, but in the other semi-final Morgan and Pauffley lost the first set 2-6.

*4-4 in the 3rd now - looks like Arvidsson is serving very well so Dan's going to have to keep his wits about him to edge this one

... he's just held for 5-4* ... crunch game coming up

Plenty of Mancunian grit in that performance from Smethy today.

The GB 10K futures are carrying on from last year in so much giving to GB players. Well done, lads.

I do still really wish ( like apparently everyone here that has expressed a view ) that more balance had been introduced this year with maybe more 15Ks but particularly more challengers.

Well it looks like the better players are opting to play elsewhere for the next few events - Dan S, Ed, Marzi, Rice, etc so there are opportunities for some of the lesser names to pick up big points - Bambo, Pauffley, Broady, Milton, Broady etc - Bob will be getting excited as players could be getting closer to top 500.

Still would like Ed to win tomorrow.

However Cox returns to play in Shrewsbury, Willis and Rice are playing Preston and all 3 are on the initial list for Tipton.
