The Corrie/Smethurst doubles match has incredibly evenly balanced stats: 3 aces to 2, 2 double faults each, 1 break each taken out of 4 break points each, max points in a row are 6 each, max games in a row are 2 each, total number of won points 79 to 77, total number of won games 13 each, service games 11/11/12 each and score (at last glance) 6(2)-7, 7-6(2), 4-4.

Today was the first time since Chiswick (last August) that 8 first round doubles were played at a British futures event. In the 11 tournaments since then there has been at least 1 bye, walkover or default.

that's a fascinating piece of trivia I don't think I'll ever have the opportunity to use - and one of the many reasons I truly love this site (second only to the punning I think )

a good day in the singles all told and we can't always have it our own way in the doubles. my thanks as always to those who updated scores.

Liam won 6-1 7-5. Was untroubled on serve until serving for the match but broke again and closed it out at the second attempt.

It looks like it should be an all GB final if Dan S can win his next match.

Harry pushed Ed for a set. Neil P and Luke pushing towards that top 500 and Marzi might be going in the right direction if he can see off Ashley.
