Good win from Dan.

But before I start, please excuse the typing. I have never used an "azerty" keyboard before. The keys are all over the place.

Dan served very well in the 1st set, going for placement more than power and won numerous cheap points. Gombos was relying heavily on his big serve, but his back hand was also a big weapon. At the start of the 2nd set, Dan could easy have been 4-0 up. He broke in the first game and had game points in each of the next three only to lose them all. His frustration showed as he shouted at himself to concentrate. But in the end, he had too much court craft for Gombos and was a worthy winner.

Can't type any more on this keyboard. It is driving me mad. My pennance for leaving my laptop at home by mistake.

It's brilliant - you're bi-type-fingeral !

A kinder draw for Jonny next week.  smile  Ross back in harness with Colin ( smile ), but arguably a nasty draw for them.

R1:  Paul Hanley (AUS) & Jonny Marray CR 128 (82+46) vs (WC) Hsin-Han Lee & Chieh-Fu Wang (TPE/TPE) CR 712 (157+555)
R1:  (3) Julian Knowle & Johan Brunström (AUT/SWE) CR 81 (43+38) vs (PR) Colin Fleming & Ross Hutchins CR 557 (34+523)
R1:  Henri Kontinen & Mateusz Kowalczyk (FIN/POL) CR 178 (93+85) vs Ken Skupski & Neal Skupski CR 142 (66+76)

Anyone know why Jamie Murray is apparently MIA at the moment?  John Peers was playing with Julian Knowle in Rotterdam this week & will be in Marseille playing alongside Huta Galung this week (4th seeds no less!).

I think he's still recovering from whatever he picked up in Australia.

A chipped pelvic bone, according to Mike Dickson - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/tennis/article-2559984/Murrays-doubles-resurgence-curtailed-chipped-pelvic-bone-Aussie-Open.html

Cheers, Steven.  Had assumed it must be through injury, but completely forgotten about the AO problem or, rather, assumed it would've cleared up by now!

always good to see wins for both our guys

Forgive me if I'm remembering wrong but is this the Skupski brothers' first direct entry into an ATP tournament? If so congratulations to them, if not my belated congratulation nonetheless

While I am always hesitant to look too far ahead there are some quite friendly qualifying spots in the main draw

(6) Edouard Roger-Vasselin (FRA) WR 35
Stakhovsky (UKR) WR 90
Hajek (CZE) WR 110
Struff (GER) WR 130

Their third, I think - Moscow last year where they reached the Final after getting in on a very low cut, if I remember right, and Montpellier last week.
