RE: Week 8 - Thailand F2 ($10,000) - Nonthaburi (Hard)

The R2 match to decide Marcus's QF opponent seemed to get stuck for a while but has now finished:

QF: (4) Marcus Willis WR 389 v (7) Michael Lammer (SUI) WR 446 (CH 150 in 2009)
QF: Lewis Burton WR 790 v (Q) Maxime Forcin (FRA) WR 918 (CH 753 in 2011)

Great news having a good day as already 4-1 up in the doubles and with an 86% win ratio , 8 titles and 3 RU in last 5 months of competing looking forward making another Doubles final this friday , and clearly ready to start competing in our first challengers as a pair very shortly

I think it might have been a rain delay that stopped play.

Don't think they/we were expecting such a workout in the doubles, good to come through though

Marcus gets yet another really tough singles match. Can Lewis go and win a QF. I cannot remember the last time that happened.

 Doubles :

Appear to keep winning 1st set then relaxing only to let opponents back in got to close up

Shop after winning 1st set  but all jap pairs never going to just lie down !

Marcus loses the first set 6-4, Lewis however wins the first 6-1 and I'd 3-3 in the second.

Lewis wins 6-1 6-4

Marcus was up a break but now 4-6 2-2

Marcus goes out 4-6 4-6.

Don't think it's realistic top250 by Wimbledon now. Top 350 seems to be his level based on the first 5 tourneys this year.

Very pleased for Lewis - well done.

Was confident he'd beat Forcin but never expected him to beat Klec in the first place and so get the chance!

He gets Udomchoke in the semis which will be tough but maybe the guy will 'choke' . . . (pretty poor, I know)

This is Lewis' best result since last August (another semi) - he only has two 6 pointers (i think!) and one's coming off mid-March so another now is very welcome.

Meanwhile the two have won the first set of the doubles semi 6-3
