Won't yet effect her ranking points since that's 13 points for reaching R2 and her current lowest non mandatory score is 20. She also has a 15 score as backup to replace the 70 coming off next week.
Where those extra non mandatory scores could begin to help a bit is if and when they replace upcoming low mandatory scores from last year ( if she doesn't make mandatory main draws via qualifying or WC ).
Hopefully, of course, she's going to go quite a bit further this week.
Would like to see Hev reach the Semifinals here, and she could get further if she can maintain her Fed Cup form. As has been said, I think tiredness will be the cause of her demise, if it occurs at all.

It's quite strange that Heather has a lowest non mandatory score of 20 with only 395 ranking points, and Laura has 3 scores of 1 in her 1,033 points. Makes it harder for Heather to climb up the rankings, but as you mention, she could gain raking points without doing anything in March just by not qualifying for tournaments where she had mandatory 5 pts in 2013.
Heather first up at 3pm GMT today, sadly not on the streamed court. Heather and Anna Tatishvili then go from being rivals to friends as they team up in the doubles at 9pm. Nicola and Sam also play as all 3 doubles have some GB interest today.
Hev breaks again to get the first set 6-2
close until heather broke away at the end
hoping that will have broken annas resolve now and set 2 will be more routine
L16: Heather Watson WR 161 beat (7) Anna Tatishvili (GEO) WR 115 (CH 50 in 2012) by 2 & 4
Hev is the first Brit to have picked up more than 100 WTA singles points since the start of this year (i.e. since the start of the first tournaments that ended in the first week of January):
103 Hev 28 Tara 23 JoKo 16 Naomi 11 Laura 9 Jade 4 Samantha, Katy & Eleanor (nobody else above 3)
If she wins her QF, she'll have picked up more points in 2014 than all the other Brits combined!
