Today was the first time she was troubled at all, and the way she took it in stride and intelligently overturned the problem at hand was poetry.
Superlatives exhausted!
Thank you Heather, you always deliver
The scoreline made out as if Pervak played poorly, but I thought that was Hev's hardest match. Hev played the big points really well and got a few lucky net cords.
That ranking will fly up - even with the 70pts to come off next week.

Yes, up about 40 places into the low 120s and only 21 points behind JoKo. It also ensures that she won't drop out of the top 150 again when the 70 points drop off.

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
So far in 2014, even before this week Heather had played really well - winning 11 out of 14 matches including 2 top 50 wins (and no losses to players outside the top 50). Yet she only had 78 ranking points and a 9th place Fed Cup finish to show for it.
This week she has continued her excellent form, but this tournament was at the perfect level to get maximum reward for her efforts (good enough for a 3 figure points hall but weak enough for Hev to get in directly on ranking). In fact, she has probably beaten better players in the previous weeks (especially at Fed Cup) than she needed to do here. So I see this week as Heather finally getting the reward in terms of ranking points that her performances this season have merited.
