Damn I missed it. Great news that Hev won. Hopefully she can win the title tomorrow

Excellent !!

With all her qualifying matches in Australia and the Fed Cup and now here, Heather has actually already this year played and won a lot of matches, and just seems to be getting better and better.

I don't think she could have hoped for the year to start a whole lot better than it has.

Now, win that final, Heather !

She's played about 18 singles matches this year already.

Really in the groove.

WTA singles points so far in 2014:

Heather Watson 163
All the other Brits 114

If she wins and Eleanor loses tomorrow (obviously I hope they both win!), she'll have picked up exactly twice as many points in 2014 as all the other Brits put together!

FINAL: Heather Watson WR 161 v Ksenia Pervak (RUS) WR 226 (CH 37 in 2011)

H2H 1-1 - Hev won in 3 sets in R2 at the Aus Open last year having lost to Pervak in the girls' QFs there in 2009

Pervak's team were pretty upset about that result in the AO - the, perceived, antics of Heather's Barmy Army.

The re-match will be interesting.
Heather is playing miles better than back then.
Ksenia though is a bit of an enigma; lots of injuries and other problems but pretty solid when she can actually get out on court.

I watched the Pervak vs. Fichman match and if Hev can get pressure on the relatively weak Russian serve early on, she stands every chance.
Can't wait!

Heather back on curt in 2 hours for doubles SF.

Remarkable effort this week, I certainly believe coming off a very successful Fed Cup for her personally has been a big boost, if anything this week is more impressive than last, so further progression.

Not to worry.

All of the weeks streamed matches are being stored, so you should  be able to watch the match at a time more convenient to you.

The Americans didn't hold serve once in that set.

All change second set.
Very partisan crowd have really got in to it and lifting the Americans play with them; almost a Fed Cup atmosphere.
6-1 4-4*
