I imagine the statisticians will have Kyle as a strong favourite. In the last year, Ignatik has played mostly Challenger tournaments. He has played players ranked higher than his current ranking of 282 on twenty occasions. He has won only twice, with one of those wins being by retirement. He won a futures event in Germany in January, but the highest ranked player he beat was only 357.
If Kyle were my home town footie team (Middlesbrough), they'd be saying that, on that basis, Ignatik was "nailed on" to win!
I was kinda hoping that my saying that would jinx Ignatik's chances.
I am a complete lightweight. Couldn't bear the tension so I went shopping. It obviously did the trick.
Another final for kyle and he hasn't dropped a set yet his week. Regardless of the result in the final, that should put Kyle inside the Top 300 with a new CH ranking to boot.

I was very tense, wasn't it! Just o add to it here, my connection kept cutting out this morning so it's been a case of rebooting the router and wondering what the next twist would be when I got back online again. I'm very glad it had a happy ending
He's not quite certain of a top 300 place yet - winning today might be enough (his new points total, 151, is enough for WR 299 in the current list) but he needs to win the Final to make sure.

Didn't realise that Coric had lost to Torebko. The draw has really opened up for Kyle, i wasn't impressed with Torebko on the Wirral, Luke beat him and Jathan gave him a fright in the first set of the first round. Poor volleyer.
Kyle's first 'upset' of the year I believe. Is now the highest seed left in the tournament and will face Torebko (WR 445, CH 178 in 2012) or Veger (WR667, CH590 in Dec - one month older than Kyle) in the final.
FINAL: (4) Kyle Edmund WR 319 v Filip Veger (CRO) WR 667 (CH 590 in Dec)
Veger is just 18 days older than Kyle (though that puts him in a different year of birth, of course) but this will be their first meeting at ITF senior or junior level.
