I had the feeling that once he finally broke he would run away with it. Thankfully he got the break just in time! Nice turnaround.
Ignatik's fallen a lot since last year, didn't realise he was down that low. Good test for Kyle. I don't think he's beaten a higher ranked player yet this year has he?

Kyle doing the biz sort of feels nearly a guarantee now.
Not affected by the DC non selection, which for the record I didn't think he would be, shows a maturity which has always been in evidence, but reaffirmation of that is always reassuring.
Kyle is having a decent week, although I would also suggest that his 3 match scorelines against such variously ranked opponents are far from setting the world alight.
He's doing fine. For me though, he wasn't ready for the Davis Cup at the time and he still isn't. But he's on the right road.
I imagine the statisticians will have Kyle as a strong favourite. In the last year, Ignatik has played mostly Challenger tournaments. He has played players ranked higher than his current ranking of 282 on twenty occasions. He has won only twice, with one of those wins being by retirement. He won a futures event in Germany in January, but the highest ranked player he beat was only 357.

If Kyle were my home town footie team (Middlesbrough), they'd be saying that, on that basis, Ignatik was "nailed on" to win!
