The rest of the tournament is going to be a big step up

Agreed. But a win in the QF might just sneak Kyle a new CH ranking (it's borderline) and place in the final should be enough to see him break into the top 300.

I'd be quite happy if Kyle could play to his ranking and get to the semi final

Likely to play the 5 seed Dubarenco next who is at a CH and could be underranked - beaten Authom, Golding and pushed Coric close.

L16: (4) Kyle Edmund WR 319 beat (Q) Levente Godry (HUN) WR 1095 (CH 961 in 2012) by 3 & 4

He'll find out his QF opponent later today.

 Great result...

was hoping he'd play him rather than the unranked 16 year old, good preparation for the possible tougher matches to come. Just hope I don't end up eating my words, comfortable kyle will win this one

I think the general consensus on this board is that as minimum Kyle should be able to make a decent career out of playing tennis. Beyond that it is probably too early to say.

Where are you getting these scores from?  I can't see it on Bet365.   Thanks for the updates anyway.    I'm sure that I'm not alone when I say that I find it much easier to follow such matches on this message board rather  than try to find a stream (which we can't watch or at work) or even a scoreboard.   I hope that in the next year or two we may have live scoring in Futures....

Kyle has had 6 break back points in this set but just can't seem to take one.

Down *2-5 in the second. 1/9 on break points.

Live scores can be found from the ITF site: scores.itftennis.com/

For some reason that link will take you to a broken page but just click the URL bar and hit enter and it will load.

Kyle earns two more break points at 3-5* and this time he breaks!

*4-5.
