Ed saves break point himself and holds for 3-3* in the 3rd. Grigelis looks more like winning (a bit more secure on serve and is serving first in this set) but it's very, very close.

30-0 but then two great shots by Grigelis bring it back to 30-30 ... & a long rally in which the Lithuanian was always on top despite some great retrieving by Ed gives him another match point

Unfortunately this match turned out pretty much as you would have expected. These two are evenly enough matched that it was always likely to be close but Grigelis just has that little bit more craft than Ed and he also has the very useful tendency of playing his best at the business end of sets.

Yes, that sums it up pretty well.
Still, Ed has shown this week that despite his patchy form in Futures early this year, he can step up to this level. Hopefully he'll mix Challengers and Futures from now on.

Corrie played some good quality tennis from the bits I saw of his matches this week. (Todays match availble here new.livestream.com/ATP/Bergamo2014CentreCourt ).
I must say that watching some of his matches in the us challengers last year i didnt think he was capeable at this level, but I think I stand very much corrected
