RE: Week 7 - ITF ($10K) - Tinajo (Lanzarote), Spain Hard

If you get at least 10 points from less than 3 events then you get a ranking too.

yup exactly what i meant

looked at all the oponents in her half and the records and junior records and theres not much she should be fearful of

4 points from last week and 7 here for a final apearance would be enough
i think she has that well in her compass if fatigue dont get her

It's only 7 points now for a finalist so I think she'd only have 9 in that case and it wouldn't be enough.

I make it that she needs to win the whole tourney (12 points) to get 10 and therefore a ranking.

Not impossible (of course!) but a W/C to Nottingham might be easier :)

But Tom, I think she only made the QF last week which is only 2 points now.

No need for her to rush. This is really exciting stuff from Ellie - to already be beating these players at 18, second tournament back and after being injured for best part of 2 years is brilliant!

oooh ha lol yup im such a fail no bleh disbelief doh

well still think she could get there this week having now looked at the other half the draw but a smidge less likely if needs to win it all

i agree with brownof to though no rush. just thinking she is good enough if the body holds up at this level to run through a draw

if not this week then whenever she next plays (unless its not a 10k in which case the draw would decide)

An even clearer win than last week

L16: (Q) Eleanor Dean UNR beat Ainhoa Atucha Gómez (ESP) WR 1046 (CH 935 in 2012) by 2 & 2

She will find out her QF opponent later today.

Eleanor's QF opponent got decided quicker than I expected - Klasen's opponent retired after just 1 game.

QF: (Q) Eleanor Dean UNR v (6) Anna Klasen (GER) WR 646 (CH 574 last Jul)

Just 3 more wins then this week to secure Eleanor the title, a ranking again and a place in the GB top 20.
