And after all that poor Richard loses out 7-2 in the tie break - sad face.

Tough luck. Nice to see Richard competitive against those higher ranked players and a matter of time before he breaks into top 400.

Poor Tucker Vorster will have to play 3 matches today. He has won his singles QF, next up is his singles SF and then he has the doubles SF (partnering Gabb).

Vorster just retired at 1-5 in his singles SF. Must put him in doubt for the doubles cry

They are now playing in the doubles SF.

Glad for Richard but for me that is pretty disgraceful. To retire in singles and then be playing your doubles match less than an hour later really isn't on.

RJA will doubtless be pleased:

SF:  (4) Carlos Boluda & Adam Sanjurjo (ESP/ESP) CR 1054 (455+599) defeated (1) Richard Gabb & Tucker Vorster (RSA) CR 881 (326+555) by 4 & 1 bleh

I am not pleased because it is a defeat for Richard Gabb who is good guy with a great attitude.

I don't however think it is acceptable for a guy to retire from a singles match and be back on court playing doubles about 30 minutes later.

QF: (7) Richard Gabb WR 436 lost to (3) Alexander Lobkov (RUS) WR 398 (CH 249 in 2011) by 6-4 1-6 7-6(2)

Richard actually won 'on points' 96-94 but sadly it wasn't quite enough.

I haven't seen the doubles result, but:

Richard:

"Note to self:
Find a healthy doubles partner.
Tournies played - 4
Tournies completed - 1
Good ratio. #cursed"
