They must be trying to save Andy from playing the doubles, especially as he's feeling under the weather this morning.

It seems Fognini isn't 100% either.

Just am now even more surprised that at this stage Ross was picked in the group rather than Dom.

Great effort by him though to have put himself into such consideration.

I think Leon recognises Fleming Hutchins as no 1 doubles team excluding Andy

I know Inglot is highest ranked player but he netted many shots in the the match against USA

I think they have decided Dom is not the best doubles player on clay and his doubles form is patchy.

If we got through to the semis, i'd expect to see Dom back in contention assuming his doubles form improves.

Not a good start to the trip. Taxi driver ripped me off to the tune of 150 euros by threatening to drive off with my luggage if I didn't pay. Can only get better from here.

That is 15 with a zero after it ?! Wow, that is shocking. I considered the £10 I was overcharged when in Budapest coming from the airport was daylight robbery, but this is like.............

I wonder whether Evo having an article in the local press written about him where it was suggested that he was very confident of being number 2 played against him.

As for Ross, very similar to US when Dom was elevated from a reserve spot.

If Andy is really under the weather, its a big risk having Colin as our number 2 single player but I'm confident Leon has it all under control.

I would think Dan's local press article ( if he knew about it ) would be very much an irrelevance to Leon.

Leon is too practical about just picking a team to win, and nothing anyway wrong in being positive about yourself.

Given the team of four they have gone for, I'm a bit surprised they didn't name James and Colin for the singles tomorrow - that way, James would have got Seppi (the match he's got more chance of winning) and Colin would have got Fognini (the match Muzz seemed at more risk of losing) on Friday - hopefully it means that Leon is confident that Andy will be able to play tomorrow or that the weather will come to the rescue by giving him more time to recover.

If he did that and played Murray on Sunday, could he chose whom Murray played?

Not if he wanted to keep James in (James would have had to play Fognini if he had played Seppi on day 1), but if he had then brought Andy in for Colin, Andy would automatically have played Seppi rather than Fognini on day 3. That would have been the obvious way to approach it if it had appeared certain that Andy wouldn't be able to play on day 1.

Andy apparently practiced this evening, so I'm guessing he is expected to be OK ( enough ) for tomorrow.

The situation does make it much more understandable though why Ross has been named im the team rather than Dan, when I had initially surmised that Dan must have just looked a very clear second to James.

I obviously want Andy to be fit for all three of his possible games, but I do hold a little love for the thought of Ross getting a DC tie so soon after his return.

Either way, nice to see that Andy should be alright for the tie and here's to hoping they can pull this one off! smile

Andy was looking good in practice last night. Confident he will play today, weather permitting. Clouds are building up at the moment although so far no rain.

Thanks for the weather report Bob, it looks bleak on the forecast, but obviously not as bad on the ground.

The locals were saying yesterday that the outlook had improved and were only expecting an occasional light shower today
