Hope that's not a dig at the Ross hutchins selection

Nope, it was a dig at the commies.

For the record though I would have liked to have BBD in the squad instead of Ross, not least as he's our highest ranked dubs player. I know he played badly last tie, but your first time is always the most nerve racking

Sure that's not a case of the lady prefers tall blondes ?

Helen colin Fleming bit a young Georgie best right ?

I'm surprised at you for being that shallow, and even more for insinuating that I am. I think that says more about you than me.

My interest is purely in the players, based on what their WRs are, and opportunities to represent their country.

You don't play your no1 doubles player you play your no1 all GB doubles pair . That's why A1 are sponsoring an all GB pair .

Anyway shouldn't Dom be playing for Queens today in the Aegon team tennis . Doms nice guy gone along way with a great partnership with a foreign player - Huey .

But that no1 ranking does not prove your the the best doubles player in GB .

Jon Marray & flembo would have won us the Doubs tie & left Andy mentally & physically fresh for the singles .

Was hoping the Italian might punch himself out ! But starting to look like that the doubles might have proved a huge tactical error sapping Andys energy for this huge singles rubber .

We have lost the tie unless wardie can create one of biggest upsets in davis cup history . Too late to put Dan Evans in .

Why did politics have to get in the way of putting our best team out !

Foginni almost as good entertainment off court as on it

My wife said he's certainly good looking enough for my Aegon team Right Helen ?

Well I am afraid to say that some rather puffed up and ignorant British pundits have been badly exposed. The arrogant belief that Murray was somehow a clear favourite for this match had no basis in reality. Fognini is a very fine clay court player and all those who expressing surprise at how well he played are merely demonstrating their own ignorance.

John Lloyd just proved he does not even benefit from

Hindsight to say that Murray would not have benefited today from not playing yesterday's doubles rubber means his IQ can be barely into double figures ! But great entertain value .

R1: James Ward WR 161 lost to Fabio Fognini (ITA) WR 13 (= CH) by 6-4 2-6 6-4 6-1
R2: Andy Murray WR 8 beat Andreas Seppi (ITA) WR 38 (CH 18 in 2013) by 6-4 7-5 6-3
R3: Colin Fleming / Andy Murray WR 131 (36+95) beat Simone Bolelli / Fabio Fognini WR 451 (383+68) by 6-3 6-2 3-6 7-5
R4: Andy Murray WR 8 lost to Fabio Fognini (ITA) WR 13 (= CH) by 6-3 6-3 6-4

R5: James Ward WR 161 v Andreas Seppi (ITA) WR 38 (CH 18 in 2013)

It's Wardy's first live 5th rubber but even Seppi has only played one live 5th rubber before - that was in Euro/Africa Group II way back in 2004, when he beat Chikhladze of Georgia to seal a 3-1 win in Cagliari.
