This guy is indecipherable. Just don't do Challengers again, please?
He is down to play challengers in Quimper next week and Cherbourg two weeks after that. If he does well in these he will be close to the point where he can move beyond challenger level but I would like to see him get a couple of challenger titles before he does that. If his head is in the right place there is no reason he can't do very well in these events.
One thing that probably didn't help him last Autumn was that his coaching situation was far from ideal. It seems that Julien Hoferlin is now his full time coach so hopefully this will lead to a greater level of consistency and tactical clarity on court.
So proud of Dan, was afraid he'd gone back to being a 'bad boy'. I wonder whether not being selected for DC got him off his backside as it did Hev when she didn't get to play mixed in the Olympics.
Dan will be replacing 1 point for losing in the L16 of last year's Sheffield 10K futures event with so far 96 points for reaching the SF of this year's Zagreb ATP 250.
In 2002, GB had the relative luxury of three top 100 ATP players, albeit briefly; Martin Lee joined Henman and Rusedski reaching a career high of WR 94. Lee made an ATP final that year losing to Neville Godwin at Newport, Rhode Island.

Wasn't Hoferlin working full time with Evans in 2012?
On the surface, it seems one nice thing about this arrangement is Hoferlin's previous work with Oli Rochus who Evans is comparable to in more ways than one. Rochus was a consumate professional (he had to be at five foot six) and it would be nice to think that Hoferlin can instil some of that attitude and application into Evans. The only thing holding Evans back is himself.
Hi zedinc, your says you've been a member since 2006????? Eight years to your first post (then two together!) Well welcome but hope to hear from you again before 2022

Julien did indeed work with Dan for part of 2012 but I think it was only for the early part of the year. i.e Prior to the illness Dan picked on on Holiday in the spring of that year that left him out of action for a while.
I do get the impression that Dan has a lot of respect for Julien. He has a go at him all the time on twitter in the manner that you only do if you genuinely dislike someone or that you really get on with them. Pretty sure that the latter applies in this case.

Very clevah! I had a knee issue myself like Lee, so went AWOL like him.
I did post once or twice last year under my new username I'd registered as I'd forgotten the old one (now deleted).
Thanks for the welcome. I'm rather hoping Mr Evans will get on with things this year. I had great expectations of him having watched his matches at the NTC at the time John LLoyd put on his rather bizarre team selection event for Davis Cup. Seems others on here, like me, appreciate Dan's aggressive gamestyle and one handed backhand.
Interesting. Evo has withdrawn from the Quimper challenger. Hopefully he has done this so he can play qualifying in Marseille the following week.
Yes. Let's hope so. The draw sheet puts his reason for withdrawal as "Personal".
Marseilles qualies would make sense. But with Dan personal reasons could be, frankly, anything we could imagine......plus probably a lot more we couldn't.
He had to say "personal reasons" because you can't withdraw injured while you are still playing in another tournament so I wouldn't read too much into it. His exploits this week have probably led to a rethink on the scheduling front.
