Wild Cards so far in Notts to Freya Christie, Laura Deigman, and Emily Arbuthnott

1 wc still available for someone who is not on the acceptance list. I would suggest it is Eleanor Dean.

In the men's events looks like 6 out of the eight seeds will be Brits, but just 8 in the main draw so far.

JWH withdrawn, so I'm guessing still injured.

I would expect Cam, George M, Coups and Bloomers to get wc's

Laura Deigman with a wild card is a strange one can't see any value in that for anyone. Other than a Brit who might draw her of course.

Aren't the LTA limiting to 3 per calendar year, so all the usual players have none left?

Not the LTA, the ITF/WTA rules are that a player can have a max of 6 WCs in a calendar year, only 3 of which can be for MD.

Would you believe it. Last week Tom Farquharson had the best week of his career beating Corrie and Smethurst on the way to his first futures title. This week he played a British Tour event and got injured (he retired during his second round match) and has now pulled out of Nottingham.

In better news Marseille is starting to look like a pretty week field. Of the 19 original DAs, 8 have withdrawn including Berdych, Wawrinka, Raonic and Janowicz.

As it stands Gasquet, Tsonga, Gulbis and Seppi will be the top 4 seeds and thus have a first round bye. After that come the likes of Dodig, Benneteau, Roger-Vasselin and Mahut and there are also 5 DAs ranked outside the top 100. Therefore there is a good chance of Kyle getting a match where he at least has a glimmer of hope.

Qualifying draw is made at 9PM local time. I expect Evo to be in it and hopefully Ward as well.
