Week 5 - Great Britain F3 ($10,000) - Sheffield (Hard)

Main Draw DAs here for Cox, Corrie, Rice, Smethurst, Hewitt, Goodall, Gabb, Farquharson, Pauffley, Marsalek and Ward Hibbert.

I am guessing at wild cards for Coupland, Carter, Martin and Meehan all of whom were on the acceptance list but don't appear in qualifying.

Qualifying draw is again very strong with 28 ranked players including Carpenter, Bloomfield, O'Mara and Morgan

I am hoping you are right about Toby Martin. When I spoke to him on Thursday, it was touch and go with an injury as to whether he would play this week.

O'Mara v Paris is way, way too good an encounter for the second round of qualifying.

Really unfortunately, ITF site says Josh won 3-0 retired.

Jonny has had a really bad run of luck with injury (assuming it's still his ankle ?)

However, completely independently, glad to see Josh make the MD.

edit: also first round Q wins for young Jay Clarke (age 15) and Bruce Strachan

Poor young Jonny O'Mara. What a dreadfully unfortunate start to the season for him. I can only assume that his ankle has not fully recovered from the injury he sustained two weeks ago.

Is there any ranked British player apart from Liam and Paris with a name / last name that's an anagram of a country's capital?

Shocking defeat for Jathan. Hopefully just rust in his first match of the year.

Can I ask if anyone ever been to Graves Tennis Centre to watch matches indoors. I went for a couple of days last year for the outdoor event in September and from the outside it didn't look like the indoor courts had any real viewing areas for spectators. I might be able to make a day or two in the week but don't want to go if I can't get to see all of the courts.
