So it would be a massive achievement by our humble standards . If it means I helped keep 2 players on the tour and they were able to go on and make a living from top 100 doubles like 6 of the top 8 GB earners do then I would say that was hugely successful ! . I know it's not success by your standards but we can't all be mavericks like you ! Can we ?
Why the dig at be financially helping again ?
I can only guess its jealousy ! I have had nice rest from that the "GB jealousy syndrome " whilst on a 3 week business tour of the middle east .
The point is that you have repeatedly criticised the LTA's failure to develop players, which is fair enough, and acted as if you goals were so much higher. Now we discover that you will actually be happy turning Marcus into a doubles specialist which is just repeating the road that several British players have already successfully travelled without your help. It would of course be a good achievement for Marcus but not much of an achievement for you.
What I don't understand and this is a genuine question, meant in good spirits, is why Mr Lewis is funding international futures trips for the boys when there are UK futures events running at the same time. Surely if the boys have their sights set on slams and ATPs then they should be in a position to play and comfortably win UK futures, without the need to travel globally to pick up cheap points. The funds could surely be better used funding forgein challenger tournaments.
It doesn't make sense to me and I am genuinely curious as to the reasoning behind it.

Its not about me achieving I have had a successful career - its about making a difference giving young people in business & sport an opportunity . I have never made a secret of the fact that I believe Marcus is one of the most talented young doubles players in the world . It would be nice to make the top 100 singles and we will give it our best shot but if I can help create great teams in business and sport I am happy . I spent a lot of time with Marcus on the GB futures tour last year and it was dreary , boring and the hotels in GB are crap . The added bonus is that Travelling the world is an education .

It's great to hear that giving the boys a nice holiday is included in the tournament planning. Your wish to play outside the UK will bode well when they hopefully step up to challengers.
I take it Lewis ( already a serial futures doubles winner before he teamed up with Marcus ) and Marcus ( "one of the most talented young doubles players in the world" ) will be giving challenger doubles a go in the near future ?
Can I ask what the general plans are for them in that regard ?
