RE: Week 5 - Israel F3 ($10,000) - Eilat (Hard)

I hear that, amongst a certain fan-base, there is a general consensus, in fact unanimous agreement, that Lewis also wins the 'get your shirt off' competition . . . . :)

Oh dear, that certainly wasn't why I RTd it. Anyway, he'd have to go some to beat the most clicked on "photo of a British player" link I've ever tweeted - Naomi Broady at a tournament in France a couple of years back still holds that record by some distance. It was a pretty small pic of her playing one of her matches there, thus possibly disappointing some of the more eager clickers no

Lewis and Marcus will move up to around 268 and 270 after this and F2's points are added, although Lewis has GB4 future title points coming off so he'll move back down to around 280.

So a promising start to the year for the boys... on the doubles court

Another doubles title is nice but it doesn't really compensate for the lack of singles points on this trip.

does in our book which is really what Counts

- hugely successful trip

I'm happy for all of you if you genuinely think it was a major success.

But getting a place in the Doubles MD of Wimbledon (and then losing) will win each player GBP 3,875

If Marcus got a WC into the Singles MD (and then lost) he'd win GBP 23,500

The sad thing is, if the boys make top 250 in doubles by picking up points alone in tournaments of this type of quality I have a gut feeling the Wild Card still wont be offered. Its certainly good fun watching them rise up the rankings but, I cannot wait to see how they perform at challenger level.

So for all your bluster it seems you will be happy if Marcus and Lewis become a decent doubles pair even if neither make it as singles players. Well news flash, quite a few British players have had good doubles careers (i.e Done enough to make a living from the sport) without your help. Getting Marcus and Lewis to that level isn't going to be a massive achievement.

You can fool some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time.

You just don't get it what there goals are thats more important  to me ! -our Goals not yours . That's making a living from playing professional tennis .

So it would be a massive achievement by our humble standards . If it means I helped keep 2 players on the tour and they were able to go on and make a living from top 100 doubles like 6 of the top 8 GB earners do then I would say that was hugely successful ! . I know it's not success by your standards but we can't all be mavericks like you ! Can we ?

Why the dig at be financially helping again ?

I can only guess its jealousy !  I have had nice rest  from that the "GB jealousy syndrome " whilst on a 3 week business tour of the middle east .
