Not a good day for Lewis - he was a set up against Goldengoren, lost a tight 2nd and then got mullered in the 3rd
L32: (Q) Miles Bugby WR 1542 beat Niels Lootsma (NED) WR 957 (= CH) by 6-7(5) 6-2 6-2 L32: Lewis Burton WR 764 lost to Tal Goldengoren (ISR) WR 1104 (CH 1034 in 2012) by 4-6 7-6(2) 6-1 L32: (3) Marcus Willis WR 383 beat Evgeny Elistratov (RUS) WR 1037 (CH 1034 in Nov) by 5 & 4
L16: (Q) Miles Bugby WR 1542 v (4) Martin Vaisse (FRA) WR 349 (= CH) L16: (3) Marcus Willis WR 383 v (Q) Vitaly Kozyukov (RUS) WR 1622 (CH 1282 in 2012)
Vaisse has won 23 of his last 25 matches, though one of the losses was a 0 & 1 thrashing by Weintraub in last week's final, so maybe he's getting tired ...

Very disappointed from Lewis final set, looked like he just gave up, no heart or fight whatsoever in a match he looked like he was completely in control of
I've no idea what to make of Lewis in singles. He by all accounts has the ability, but very rarely gets to a QF. I can see him becoming a doubles specialist, but needs to step up a level or he will be well out of pocket.
Pretty disappointing how Lewis's singles has gone over the last couple of years. After an initial seemingly quite difficult transition to seniors he began to progress and achieved his still CH of WR 626 on 19/03/12, just before his 20th birthday. At that stage, whilst his doubles ability was well recognised ( and he had done pretty well in that area even before teaming up with Marcus ), I would certainly not have expected him to be being talked about as a doubles specialist within two further years. I really do hope that he still has real singles ambititions, for the 89 / 90 born group have quite largely been a very good example of how players can regroup and come again to new levels a bit further into their twenties.
On a more positive note, very good to see that win by Miles.
