Grace took the 1st set against Stanciute but it went to a 3rd and then disappeared at 6-4 1-6 3-4

Well I called the first round results for the GB girls even suggested Grace had best chance of getting through.

Really gutted she didn't win. Good player could easily be top 750 player when she plays well.

Katy will qualify, Manisha and Lucy probably won't.

Here are all the results in one - I've deleted my earlier version which has most but not all of them. Very good efforts from Grace (which hopefully also implies Stanciute isn't in good enough form to trouble Katy) and from Jess given that Danilina is ranked 440 places above her. In the end, only one match went against rankings and that match did not involve a Brit.
