RE: Week 3 - ITF ($10K) - Glasgow,UK (Hard)

Well, 3-3 in Tara's match so she's not having it all her own way . . .

Tara was actually a break down early on but has since won 6 games in a row to go a set and a break up 6-3 *1-0

Edit: the score has now changed to 6-3 *0-1, as if there was an overrule on game point ... but it still shows 6 games in a row for Tara confuse

Nicola George has taken the 1st set 6-3 v Lauren McMinn

Nicola (CH 662 in 2011 - she has only been playing on the ITF Pro Circuit again since November, so this is the first time she has made a singles main draw for over 18 months) beats Lauren 3 & 2.

Tara is 6-3 *5-2 up, serving for the match but facing 2 bps.

The close 1st sets in the other two FQR matches being played at the moment both went against the Brits, sadly.

Main draw is out.

Tara is seeded 1 and draws Jasmine...........

3 all GB ties

Could be an interesting QF as the flatmates(Tara/Anna) are due to play each other.

Not the greatest of draws for our girls. In the all GB games I expect Tara, Maia and Jade to win.

Of the rest, Anna should win, Katy has a tough but winnable draw(Tara pushed her out of the seedings).

Depends which Lucy turns up. I saw Pirazhenka last year at Wrexham beat Tiffany William and she was solid, but nothing special.

Unfortunately I cannot see any of the other girls getting through. Dasha is over ranked and Touly is useful beating some good players in Manchester.

At least Katy is in the 8th seed's section, so she has actually got an overall draw that she could have had as 8th seed herself, and is in the quarter with the 4th seed, so it could have been much worse. Be good if it's actually Katy vs Lucy in R2.

Would have been a laugh - not - if Katy had drawn Tara in R1.

I don't actually overall see it as that bad a draw. Yes, a few moves around would make it look better, but it's not too bad.

I had a feeling Katy would get Tara in R1, having just missed out on a seeding, so that not happening alone made it strike me as a reasonable draw, and while it's awful for players like Jasmine, Grace and Jess, of course, I don't think it's unusually bad (or unusually favourable) for the Brits overall.

I wouldn't have given Lucy much hope against Pirazhenka had she not beaten her before - I imagine the Belarussian is still a heavy favourite, but at least it feels like there's a chance as long as whatever forced Lucy to retire from last week's BT final isn't still bothering her.

Not too surprisingly, all moving along very quickly in Glasgow.

Jess lost the first set 6-0
Nicola 5-0 down
Dasha 4-1 down

Anna 4*-3 up and trying to fly the GB flag . . .

Nicola George lost 6-0 6-0
Jess lost 6-0 6-2

Anna squeaked the first set 7-5 and hopefully now can relax a little and get through the second more easily.

Dasha lost the first 6-3 and is 4-1 down in the second

Anna won 7-5 6-3, but made hard work of it. I'm sure one of our girls(Katy?) had a run in with Harmony Tan in Egypt.

Dominique 5-2 down

Results going to form so far.

Anna will get the Irish player, Amy Bowtell, next who I wish well (slight soft spot for the Irish players) but she's definitely well within Anna's range and Anna will be the favourite
