And the dark horses in that top half of the draw are the Aussie WCs, Alex Bolt & Andrew Whittington, who have capitalised well on a huge slice of good luck in the first round, where they defeated Raonic & Pospisil by 1-2 retired, taking out the third seeds, Marrero & Verdasco, in straight sets in the next & Pablo Carreño/GGL in three in the third. Things may well go pear-shaped in the QF, as they face Nestor & Zimonjic (8), but I wouldn't bet on it...
Dom is trying to be the 1st Brit to make the men's doubles semis here since Jeremy Bates managed it with Kelly Jones (USA) in 1991. Bates is also the last Brit to make the men's doubles final - he and Peter Lundgren were runners up in 1988.
