Some entertaining stuff, but the second set goes down the pan by 3-6. cry  Ross is going to have to up his service game, so to speak, if he & Colin are to prevail in the decider.  Fingers crossed...

Not to be.  Bops & Qureshi seemed to raise their after being broken early in the decider & never really looked back:

R2:  (7) Rohan Bopanna & Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi (IND/PAK) CR 29 (14+15) defeated Colin Fleming & Ross Hutchins UNR by 4-6 6-3 6-2 cry

Jamie & John lost the first set by 4-6 & I'm off to bed, hoping to wake up to better news later this morning.

Jamie & John lost 4 & 4 - not one of their better days, by all accounts

More excrucatingly, Dom & Treat were 6-3 5-3* up on the Italians, got broken serving for the match and eventually lost the 2nd set in a tiebreak, 7-5

And, in theory, they could over the next two rounds, avenge two of their countrymen's losses - were they to win against Bopanna and Qureshi, they would play either the conquerors of Marray/Hanley or those of Murray/Peers.

Hope they can keep going: nice work so far. Given previous events, didn't expect too much, alas, of the Murray/Peers match - pity, as it felt eminently winnable if both were in full form. And the result of the Fleming/Hutchins match was closer than it could have been, given how few matches they've played together since Mr Hutchins' return and the strength of their opponents. Another good sign.

Disappointing, but very much as I'd  feared.
