looking at the full results (thanks for the summary SC) it wasn't as bad a day as I thought from the comments - Gabb was the only one to lose to a lower ranked opponent. Whilst I'm not disagreeing that it was a slightly disappointing set of results it wasn't disastrous either.

Bruce lost 7-5 6-3, against a guy with a WR of 271, but should, hopefully, be pleased with his performance this tournament.

Dan S is 5-2 up v Tom. And Dave 0-3 down v. George

Two very impressive performances from Bruce this week given the huge rankings gaps.

Dan beats Tom 3 & 3 and will play Bruce's conqueror, 2nd seed Authom, in the QFs.

George seems to be heading for a career best ranking scalp against Dave (6-4 4-1* up), who is ranked 9 places higher than Ed was when George beat him in the US towards the end of last year. Nothing against George, obviously (it's great if he's coming good at senior level at last), but I was hoping to see Dave continue to move upwards this year.

Ed beats Tchoutakian 4 & 4 so he'll play Ashley in the QFs (H2H 1-0, 3 & 4, Frinton 2011)
