If you ever find yourself in conversation with Camila Giorgi's dad, and he happens to mention that they are desperately short of funds, suggesting that you invest in her career, tell him you'd love to help but unfortunately you don't happen to have any spare cash right now. A fascinating 2 page article in Sports Illustrated, packed full of various investors, none of whom seem to be having much luck getting the Giorgi's to comply with their side of the respective deals, despite her career earning of $668K.

A wealthy sponsors prime motivation should not be financial return :
There are much easy ways of creating wealth than investing in a tennis player . In an ideal world a Tennis sponsor does it to help out because he or she makes a difference to a young persons Life and career . I have been lucky with my career eg my A level physics grade was not professors one lecturer on the interview panel Mr Holman at Portsmouth school of pharmacy fought my corner saying that i was from a very poor performing inner state school where the average student got only 1 O level pass . That one act of generosity made a huge difference to my career and Mr Holman when on to become a valued mentor .
In my opinion a successful businessman or woman could invest in far better financial opportunities outside of tennis . If your doing it for the money then it's most unlikely that you will get a financial return .
I do it for the satisfaction of knowing i made a difference to a young persons career and did my bit to help one our top British players
I have over the last 10 years financially helped at least 6 young GB tennis players Marcus Willis has achieved the most with the support and funding and is very grateful .I genuinely consider it the best thing I have done in any sport period .
We all get a great feeling when we make a difference mostly in our own children's life's .
I know that I am in a privelaged position to help out Financially so that's my role other people provide time , services and support ! Life is not all about making money it's about giving something back !
There are a huge number of volunteers in GB tennis who put a huge amount in eg Matt smith our coach
Matt can make more than twice as much per hour coaching other players he's not doing it for the money he's doing it because like myself he knows he can make a difference to Marcus 's career and life .
