Pleased to see Kyle come through that TB. We need to remember that Kyle hasn't won a match of any kind since September last year and although he clearly hasn't forgotten how to play, it is important that he hasn't forgotten how to win either.
L32: (7) Alex Ward WR 409 lost to David Vega Hernández (ESP) WR 498 (CH 495 in Dec) by 1 & 3
L32: (4) Kyle Edmund WR 372 beat Evan King (USA) WR 590 (= CH) by 7-6(4) 6-2
In R2, Kyle will play Nguyen or Aubone - the latter has taken the 1st set on a tiebreak.

Held his nerve in the 1st set and showed his class in the 2nd.
Get in there.
Get in there, indeed! I'd like to think Kyle has a great chance of winning another tournament pre DC, either this week or, more probably, next week. That first round looked like a banana skin, so it's great to see him finish so strongly, which bodes well for the rest of the week.
Next couple of weeks important for Kyle, James and Evo to try and show some real form. Kyle to me remains an outside DC bet.
I'm just happy that I have real confidence in Leon Smith to come to what he truly believes is the best selection for no other reason than to try to get the WIN.

The word on the street ( or at least twitter ) is that Kyle is in the lead position for the number 2 spot. Winning here may cement that position.
