RE: Week 2 - WTA Australian Open Qualifying 2014

Hev did what she had to do in that set, she can play a lot better but doesn't need to right now.

Whatever they are, they're clueless - they just switched to the SFG v Patterson match and described Tammi as "USA" - now I know AUS & USA use the same 3 letters so are easy to mis-read, but you'd think they'd automatically know the names of their own players! biggrin

I take it these are Aussie commies? If they're Brits, I really won't be impressed. Heve's just taken the first set though

Yes, they are - they make Bouncy look borderline competent wink

 That's really scary!

Hev 2-1 Second set.

I'd give that a 6.5/10, but still won comfortably, did what she had to do.

Would seem Heather may have found more in her serve for this year. Now needs to produce it more consistently. Seems a decentish win and I do fancy her to beat Foretz Gacon.

Bit disappointing result and particularly first set scoreline from Tara. She's really not pushed on as I hoped since Wimbledon last year, when I thought she played to an excellent level in that tight loss. I feel an important few months coming up for her.

Now c'mon Jo !

I do think the tight odds may be quite perceptive. Not just a toughish opponent, but maybe rather more importantly a Jo who may still be pretty inconsistemt until she gets her game hopefully into better working order.

On reflection I thought Hev was a little bit nervous, but getting the win is what's it all about and she'll only get better from here on in.
