Well, the positive: pulled herself together in the second set and gave a truer account of her quality.
But, to lose a set in 19 minutes like that at this level is really very poor.
Nerves, form, illness, concentration?
Even so, 19 minutes.

UK » Hong Kong » Australia is a long round trip for some pretty uninspiring showings.
Hard to know what's going on with Tara sometimes.
Will this sadly be another year of treading the water of unfulfilled potential?

Heather's not unaccustomed to the odd slow start so going a break down early nothing to worry about yet.

I predict a tight first set then Hev to pull away in the second.

Three big serves in a row from Heather to hold for 2-3. Hev often strings several big serves in a row together, but then she can go several games without a service winner. All about rhythm I suppose.

Two excellent games from Hev - a much more assured service hold (including 2 aces down the middle) and then she breaks to love *3-3 - the Aussie commentators have gone a bit quieter.

nice gentle shift up in gear no dramas but efective
