Well done to Natasha Hillyer, ex WR 1027, who won the BT Tour event today, beating Aimee Gibson in three sets. There's a lovely photo of her and a round-up of the Aegon team competition, a week ago, in the Coventry Telegraph:
Young Jasmine Asghar won the BT event at Tunbridge Wells, while Alexander Walker, British US college player and previous CH WR 926, won the title up in Newcastle.

Think you mean Alexandra Walker who's at Bath Uni in the good old UK. Think she may have just graduated though.

You're absolutely right - sorry - a real brain f**t moment. In fact, I'd meant to say how good it was to see a UK uni player, and then got confused with the men's lot . . .
I don't think that's the reason for Jasmine (juniors aren't so focused on money and, actually, a WTA 1100 ranking (which is roughly what she'd have with just one more point), would be a far better ticket to cash (seeded in the 10k qualies) than playing Sutton and no ranking.
But I see Marcus has entered, and that makes sense - as you say, it's a big pot - someone's got to win it !
Serena is an interesting player. A big, powerfully built young lady she has such an attacking style of play, but gives herself little margin for error. When she's got her range she's almost unplayable but on other days can't find the court.
Sounds like she could be a prospect if she can find the right coach to help her reign it in then. I must admit Ive never heard about her, but there's an article from the Yorkshire Post earlier in the year here:

I like the sound of her already !
After all, who wants to just tickle the ball ?
And nice article . . . good luck to her and her style of play, which might possibly serve her better in adult tennis rather than junior tennis anyway . . .
