Nicole Peterson won the first event of the year, coming through a three setter against Grace Dixon in the semis before beating Eden Silva (who beat Fitzy by retirement) 6-3 6-3 in the final.
A stronger field this week in Billesley which Lucy Brown and Amy Bowtell as the top two seeds. Lucy might face a tough match against youngster Ellie-Rose Griffiths in the second round. Jasmine Asghar is having to make her way through qualies.
Amy Sargeant also in the draw this week, but is not entered for Glasgow or Sunderland. Is she not pursuing a pro career?
I know she's not expecting too much (ok, she probably is while knowing she shouldn't!), but great to see Helen get her first win at this level since before injury and illness (i.e. since 2010) - she won her R2 match (after a R1 bye) 0 & 4 this evening

Knowing that she wasn't sure she's survive one match today, I'm stunned (but very happy!) to see that Helen won both her QF and SF in straight sets today to set up a final against Anna tomorrow.

Why is Anna Fitzy playing here and not Glasgow ITF. Seems rather strange
Based on comments she made last year and one of her friends made yesterday, I think it's because she makes a lot more money playing BTs than playing 10Ks. It could be argued that it doesn't show much ambition but if she's still a student, maybe her main aim at the moment is to keep her hand in and make as much money (that should probably be "lose as little money") as she can. I'm sure most of us would rather see her play 10Ks but there is some logic to it. Of course, there can't be much logic to the prize money structure if it ends up being more lucrative to play BTs than 10Ks!
She won the Final 5 & 1 and followed it with a nice tweet about Helen: "Great effort from @Helen_Parish this week in her first Brit Tour in over 4 years. That girl has heart, really wish her the best"
The latter's results this week (not least the fact she got through 4 matches in 3 days and still managed to push Anna for a set) suggests she's doing better than I dared hope at this stage
As for Anna, goodness knows how many BT titles she has now won LOL

Sam wins her comeback match 6-0 6-1 but unfortunately Harriet Dart retired against Alannah Griffin.
Sam probably will face her first test against Alex Walker in the semis. The bottom half is more evenly matched but Grace Dixon is in good form and is probably favourite to come through.
