Cox is playing a grand slam qualifier this week hardly futures level unlike Goodall who shot himself in the foot skipping last year to play home 10ks. I'm sure Coxy will only play a months worth of futures. There aren't many challengers in jan until feb so Id hardly say that's his fault. Normally I'd criticise but for a months worth if futures that should guarantee to top 220 ranking (possibility of overtaking Wardy by March too).
Just on the Dan Cox schedule, out to Aus for one match then back to UK for 10k, when he could have stayed in Aus and played very weak challengers. The cut off at Burnie is 415

While I would have liked to see Dan play Burnie, and Adelaide the following week, it is only fair to point out that Burnie doesn't start for another 18 days.
The 10k in Egypt is nearly as strong as the 25k at the minute.
logical decision if you are chasing points. Super strong 25k, will be difficult to qualify, never mind get to the first round and pick up a 6th point. Whereas Katy should get to QF or better in a 10K for similar points.
Be great to see Jazzi come back and have a good year, and I've just got this feeling she will.
Ditto. She had all that momentum going into 2013, but then a string of losses followed by injury derailed her year completely. She's still only 16 so there is huge scope for her in 2014 (though she will have to go back down to G4s etc in juniors during to her ranking slipping so dramatically - 91 to 900+).
I'm afraid that Coxy will be playing the same Futures next year, too. He's not defending those post-Wimbly points unless he's a contender for Challenger titles, and he's not going to learn to beat top-150 players regularly by playing Futures.
FCO has Sharm and the transfer to its airport as one of the few exceptions in its "avoid all but essential travel" zone at present: www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/egypt That may not be a factor, but it may be; there are concerns around the referendum, the situation is volatile, etc.
