British Tour 2014

So any college player playing on tour whilst still at college can only claim prize money to covers expenses. How do the colleges enforce that?

Well,, to be fair, practically no one can make a profit after expenses from Futures winnings so it's probably not much of an issue.

Does that also mean that Cameron, for instance, can't take his winnings, because he's already signed up? Or even someone who has not signed up?

Clay Crawford v Robbie Ridout in the final

I know everyone 'better ranked' is playing higher stuff but it's nice to see some different names winning a bit of money and titles

Congratulations to Matt Hough, Bally's old hitting partner and a coach at her academy.

He won the BT event at Felixstowe this week, beating Adam Skalsky in the final 7-6(4) 6-4

Well done to him, and thinking of Bally, as always. . . .

For those who like to remember our 'old timers', ex-WR 810 Kyle Brassington has beaten Peter Ashley, WR 1544, to make the BT final at Ilkley this week.
Where he will play Clay Crawford, WR 1690, who won against Harry Meehan when Harry had to retire in the first set.

Yet again, like last week, Harry Meehan has to retire - he played and won two matches though but stopped after losing the first set TB today in the semis at Tunbridge Wells

Well done to British US college players, Jordan Angus (q) and Ben Lott, who won the BT events this week in Tunbridge Wells and Newcastle, respectively.

As Josh is still on the top 25 table, well done to him for winning the BT event this week, defeating Mark Whitehouse 6-4 6-3

Rob Carter takes on Richard Bloomfield in tomorrow's British Tour final at Paddington, which is a decent final for anyone in the area on a Saturday morning.

Isaac Stoute and Robbie Ridout were the two smei-finalists

Alex Ward is playing the BT event in Cambridge this week, along with Rob Carter, Oli Hudson, Harry Skinner, Alex Jhun - and (unfortunately) the 'pesky' German who won last week, Torsten Wietoska WR 694.

Ollie Hudson isn't too happy with his QF in Cambridge:

"Personal record for me...broken 7 times in a match and it was only 2 sets 😤 Also don't think I've ever been a break up 4x before and lost a set! #recordbreakingscenes"

He was playing 4th seed Alex Jhun, who won 7-6(3) 7-5. In the SFs, Alex plays unseeded Joe Woolley, who despatched the 'pesky' German 2nd seed in R2, while top seed Alex plays 3rd seed Rob in the other semi-final.

In the semis, Alex and Rob has a real ding-dong, with Alex only winning in a third set tie-break.

Alex Jhun won the other semi, beating Joe Woolley.
