Not yet. These are acrylic courts, seemingly, and also shale (although I wouldn't think they'd mix them for the Tour so probably just use the hard ones). Was going to try and make it along but work got in the way so it didn't happen. Here's the site though.
Outdoor acrylic courts, although a couple of matches took place or were finished indoors due to weather. Think this is David Wright's home club as he had a lot of support during the match against Milan K - high quality, entertaining encounter.
Not sure which match that was, but I'll defend the lady. A couple of the rain showers on Thursday were spectacular - really sudden deluges absolutely flooding the courts. I saw her talking to a few of the players who were near the end of their matches offering them use of an indoor court if both parties wanted to carry on whilst warm. Guess it was one of those.
HaHa !! If they weren't both happy then it definitely wasn't good umpiring. On Thursday at least (only day I was there) moving indoors would have made a big difference, even though the court surfaces were the same - it was a really windy day.
To actually be fair to her ( rather than just get a line in ), if it was an instantaneously huge downpour producing conditions you wouldn't normally play in, would playing on not be more what would require both players' agreement, no matter the scoreline.
I was wondering how Bloomers was doing because I know that he said that his goal was to be top of the British Tour list before Wimbledon because the top player gets a place in the Quali place play-offs. Don't know when the cut off date is though - the women is very close.
Cut off for play-off place was after last week's event at Connaught, but I think the points don't get added to the leaderboard until Friday. The winner of the 1st BT in Notts in a week's time also gets one.
8 ranked players in the mens and 5 in the women's this week in Oxford. Probably all looking for practice on grass but given the weather forecast, I'm not sure they're going to get much!

Thanks
So, as Beth beat Aimee at Connaught, is that her place assured?
And Richard already assured of a place? Have I got that right?
But the winner of just one British Tour event, in Notts, also gets a place? Just for winning one Tour event ? Have I missed something?
Yes, I think Beth and Richard have got the leaderboard slots. The BT at Notts is on hard courts and runs alongside the 75K on grass and is always ridiculously strong, partly because a lot of women who don't come through the 75K qualifying move across to the BT and partly because the WC prize is attractive. As I mentioned on another thread, Notts really try to make something of this bunch of tournaments calling it a festival of tennis and having lots going on. This prize is probably linked to that to ensure that visitors (and there are plenty) have lots to see, including the better Brits.
