RE: Week 1 - ATP 250 - Doha, Qatar (hard)

I just looked at the prize money for this tournament and unsurprisingly it is rather generous.

First round losers get $10,700 which compares rather well to $4,655 in Brisbane or $4,115 in Madras.

I think Evo has a very good chance here, should be a lot more match sharp then Gulbis

Well, as long time predictors on the BOTB will be too well aware, trying to accurately predict what you are going to get from Mr Gulbis can be a thankless task.

And the LTA will have to have put their hand in their pocket again as well, to the tune of £1,250

I think if Dan is patient using his backhand slice he could annoy Gulbis quite a lot

I  think Dan is still fully funded, so will not qualify for the bonus scheme

Just looking at the rankings, Dan needs to have some really good results to climb up the ladder. There is a massive gap in points between positions now. Even a 50pt jump will only jump around 10 places.

Treat & Dom face the defending champions next. Actually they played at the same stage last year, losing 7-6(4) 4-6 [8-10]

R1: (4) Treat Huey (PHI) & Dominic Inglot beat Alexandr Dolgopolov & Teymuraz Gabashvili (UKR/RUS) 6-3 7-6(4)

QF: (4) Treat Huey (PHI) & Dominic Inglot v Christopher Kas & Philipp Kohlschreiber (GER/GER)

Dom & Treat actually don't have any points to defend to mid March (Dom Dallas chally final, Treat Indian Wells final).

Can anyone find a stream? Or is Court 1 too much of an outside court to be televised?

Evans facing 0-30 now.

Unfortunately there does not seem to be a stream.

Thanks airsmashers, I just wanted to confirm I hadn't missed anything. Shame really but the livescores suggest we aren't missing a classic just yet. 1-4 to Gulbis now although Evans has just saved two more break points on his serve...dare I hope?

Dan lost the first set 6-2 but gets a break in the first game of the second.
