RE: Week 1 - ATP 250 - Brisbane, Australia (hard)

John and Jamie also here. They're the 3rd seeds and they play Butorac and Klaasen.

Nice start to the year for James, hopefully he can take advantage.

If he can qualify there are 3 nice slots in the main draw. 2 qualifiers play one another, another will face a wild card (Samuel Groth) while the other gets Lleyton Hewitt.

Fingers crossed for the next match.

No need to look too far forward.

Enjoy the victory

Both had been holding serve comfortably but James get the first break points and the first break, then holds.

He leads 5-3* in the first set.

Edit: Second serve ace seals the set 6-4

Looks like a pretty tough loss and a real missed opportunity. He would have played Kuznetsov in the final round which would have been very winnable.

John and Jamie won their match 6-3 6-4 smile

They play Anderson and Lindstedt next.

Also Mahut/Federer won their match so that's who Colin and Ross play if they can make it past Dimitrov/Chardy

Congratulations to Messrs Murray and Peers. If memory serves correctly, they have rather little to defend early on, so the potential for ranking rises is good. Glad to see Messrs Federer and Mahut win, too.

Nerve wracking scoreline but John and Jamie make it through 4-6 7-6(2) 14-12 smile

Lindstedt/Anderson served for the match at 4-5 second set. And John and Jamie had three match points at 9-6* (so only one on their serve) in the match tiebreak. and saved a match point at 11-12*

Jamie and John through to the semis beating Lindstedt and Anderson 4-6 7-6(2) [14-12] breaking Anderson when he served for the match and saving a match point against serve in the MTB.
