Judging by the fact that Dan, Joko and Tara are all on the entry lists for Sunderland in WK4 - i suspect they aren't that confident.

I'm sure that's just a contingency plan.  They'd got a lot more stick on here (justifiably so) if they didn't enter and then turned up using a MD WC.

Both Dan and JoKo have qualified for Grand Slams before so I see no reason why they themselves wouldn't be confident of doing so again.

Aussie Open qualifiers are in week 2. They would need to win a couple of main draw matches in order to not make it back in time to play Sunderland.

referring to the last post, without quoting the whole thing, Flem and Hutch are on twice, once using Hutch's PR and with a CR of 56 and at the bottom without using the PR? is that correct? If not why on twice and which one will apply?

That is correct. If there are sufficient withdrawals for them to get in without using the PR that is what they would do. The chances of this happening are however extremely remote so they will almost certainly end up using the PR.

Alas, all the AUS potential WCs are behind the Skupski brothers, and the Murray/Peers partnership just misses seeding ...pity that. (Chances that they'll face Inglot or Fleming/Hutchins early?) Some great pairings - strong seeds, a lot of strength lower down the list, too ... and as many have commented, whatever the results of any match(es) the Monfils/Brown pairing contends, the happenings on court are unlikely to be boring.

Murray and Peers will be seeded as Ross' protected ranking can't be used for seeding purposes and also Youzhny's doubles ranking is not high enough. That will also mean that Huey and Inglot will get a top 12 seeding and avoid a top 4 seed in the 3rd round if they get there. Seedings are based on next weeks rankings but nothing much is going to change as fat as I can tell.

Aha! Good news (at least for Murray and Peers, Huey and Inglot)

Glasgow looking much better for GB entries for both men and women

Women - Sam, Jade and Anna will be seeded. 8 Girls in main draw now. 4 WC's to go out and then quails. I'm pretty sure they will give Jasmine, Maia and Lana 3 WCs with probably Jess Ren the other.

Men - Ed, Dave, Dan, Ash and Rich seeded. 10 GB in main draw(George will be in) 4 WC interesting to see who they give these to, presumably the highest ranked GB left

Should be plenty of qualifiers as well in both men and women.

Sam should cruise the women's tournament. Grigelis is going to be the major issue stopping a GB win.

Surely as defending champ she will get a wild card!

They've already given out the 4 WCs - Beth Askew, Jasmine Asghar, Maia Lumsden and Lana Rush.  However, Tara will clearly be the highest ranked player in qualies and, as the event starts on a Monday, there will be no SE places taken.  So I reckon she'll still end up in the main draw as 1st seed.

Will they not fill SE or withdrawal vacancies by the best ranked players on the original entry list ?

I wouldn't put money on this, but I'm pretty sure they're filled from those who have actually signed in to qualify and who have been accepted into the qualifying draw, in order of merit (i.e. highest ranking first).  This would include alternates who had signed in and been accepted into the qualifying draw.
