There is a real opportunity for Naomi to move up the rankings in the next few months. She has very little to defend until the end of April and the recent improvement in form could easily push her close a new career high in the forthcoming months.
Tara and Sam are down to play a 25K in Hong Kong in the final week of the year (which must be convenient for T as I think she's got family there) and then hopefully they'll head to Australia.
Naomi wins from a set down and breaks down in both of the other two sets
QF: Tara Moore WR 220 lost to (5) Magda Linette (POL) WR 135 (= CH) by 2 & 2 QF: Naomi Broady WR 261 beat (8) Danka Kovinic (SRB) WR 167 (CH 155 in Sep) by 6-7(1) 6-4 7-6(3)
SF: Naomi Broady WR 261 v (2) Marta Sirotkina (RUS) WR 137 (CH 115 in Feb) - H2H 0-3, all in 2010/11
Naomi is now definitely back in the top 250 (probably around 230) and back in the GB top 5 ... and I've just realised this is the first time she has ever reached a singles semi-final at 50K level or above!

this must be her best event in ages in terms of stacking back to back wins against quality opponents and in adversity.
can we extend the year a bit for her please
