Isn't he Portuguese? Which of course they speak in Brazil. smile

Thanks (not least for giving me the chance to correct in on Twitter before half a dozen people had time to tell me it was wrong!) - I keep getting that wrong (i.e. assuming he's from Brazil) for some reason. no

Haha no worries, that's where I saw it so I thought let me just post something here quickly as I don't have twitter myself. Ferreira Silva is quite Brazilian sounding.

It appears that Josh has retired with Neil leading 6-2 2-0

Will that be the end of his season? Will he fall agonisingly short of the Top 500? Oh, those 5 MPs in the Champaigne QF a few weeks ago.

More seriously though, hope he is OK.

L32:  Neil Pauffley WR 573 defeated (7) Josh Milton WR 524 by 6-2 2-0 retired

The seeds are dropping like flies: Lizariturry (2) (beaten by 2 & 5 by that man Obry! disbelief ), Setkic (3) (beaten by the Turkish qualifier, Cem Ilkel), Novak (4) (retired at 1-3 against Michaël Bois) & now Josh!  I hope that's not an ill omen for Ed!

hard luck to Ed, losing 7-6 6-2 - it was a nasty draw - Fabrice is way better than his ranking.

Yes, it really was a stinker of a draw - the no. 1 seeding giving Ed no real advantage at all as the draw turned out.

L32: (1) Ed Corrie WR 312 lost to Fabrice Martin (FRA) WR 565 (CH 228 in 2012) by 7-6(6) 6-2
L32: Neil Pauffley WR 572 beat (7) Josh Milton WR 528 by 6-2 2-0 ret.
L32: (Q) George Morgan WR 943 lost to Frederico Ferreira Silva (BRA) WR 620 (= CH; junior WR 44 / CH 6) by 6-4 3-6 6-1

L16: Neil Pauffley WR 572 v (Q) Artur Shaknubaryan (RUS) WR 1680 (CH 1568 in Apr; junior WR 70/CH 46)
