RE: Week 50 - Qatar F4 ($10,000) - Doha (hard)

Nooo !

Poor Oli certainly hasn't had much luck this year, and he didn't deserve this to crown his year.

I so hope it's nothing serious just when he had such momentum, and that he can still have a productive close season.

Great shame, hopefully it's nothing major and he pushes on next year

Huge shame for Oli but at least a great few weeks see him save his year and put him in a good position for next year (on a 13 match winning run too), assuming the injury isn't too serious.

Big congrats to Evan - is this his first title?

2nd - he also won a doubles title with Luke in Israel a couple of months ago.

Just looking at the rankings...

Oli is currently on 92 points, WR 418 and GB no 13.

His 6 points for a SF here take him to 98 points, level on points with Dan S ( WR 402 and GB no 10 ). Indeed if he had gone on to win the title this week and again next week, barring any other late entries and points gathering he would have finished the year inside the top 350 and GB no 7, quite an ending to his at times troubled year.

GB positions with this week's additions and deduction ( no more are due this year ) :

7. Marcus 122 points ( currently WR 350 )
8, Kyle 110 points
9. Brydan 104 points
10 / 11. Dan S 98 points ( currently WR 402 )
10 / 11. Oli 98 points
12. Alex 96 points
13. Ashley 94 points
14. Josh G 90 points

( Liam, on 77 points, will pass Ashley and Josh G if he wins the title in Qatar next week ).

I was just thinking when I was looking at these rankings, that the proposed contest to predict the GB top 10 and put them in order for next year may require a lot of thought.

Great to see lots of up and coming talent in your list - Oli, Liam, JWH, Luke B

Would be interested to know where you think Kyle will end up as he is not in the list.

Oli Golding tweets

'Knee not as bad as first thought. Should settle down by itself and be ready for pre-season!!!'

Good news. I see a big 2014 for Oli if he can remain fit, going well beyond what he has achieved to date.
