Gutted for Liam but two very convincing wins for the other Brits, Scott completing the double bagel

Scott's a hungry boy - double bagel. Results are very good at the moment. One to watch?
I'm not sure feeding Zayed bakery products is a sure sign of future greatness but even Liam dropped a game against Zayed last week and Scott does seem to have stepped up quite a bit recently

I think the FQR win against Luke is much more of an indicator. And given Luke's form recently, that certainly suggests that Scott is playing well at the moment.

I saw Scott play at Roehampton in September and wasn't too impressed - which probably means he'll storm up and be top 300 by next year !!!
I saw him play against Keelan Oakley and it was terribly close and, although Scott just about deserved it, he only won 7-5 6-4 and, tennis-wise, there wasn't too much to get excited about (although Keelan is a streaky player and does play some excellent tennis in patches so he had to beat him).
However, as Magnus Norman (and the guy in the US whose name escapes me) has been tweeting for the last couple of weeks, success in tennis is very little about tennis talent and very much about commitment and capacity to work and 'suffer' on a daily basis and that's the problem when we look at our youngsters, we (or I should say 'I') don't really know their characters (and, in particular, their characters as 'men').
So, if Scott is really dedicated and working hard and getting better results (and given his age it can only get better and better), then that's brilliant and I'm a big fan.
Will be really good if Oli could get into the top 400 for the first time at the end of a difficult year, interspersed with injury and illness. I do suspect that there was a lot of method to the clay commitment for much of the year, even if results there weren't great. He's certainly shown very encouraging form latterly on hard courts.
Oli is one guy, who I have consistently stuck my neck out, through thick and thin ( kind of similar to my Laura stubborness ! ) in that I have felt he may take longer to mature than many, both on and off the court, but he still has a really good potential future and can at least reach the top 100.
Probably lose next round now ! Even then, I will certainly keep the faith, and will certainly be following Mr Golding's progress with interest in 2014.
