Jade misses game point, deuce, game point #2, deuce, match point to the Armenian... Saved. Here's another... Saved. 3rd game point is missed. Match point #3... Saved. Double fault #14 hands Amiraghyan match point #4... Saved. Match point #5...
Jade loses 64 26 64
Wow. That is not great - disappointing trip for Jade given the draws she had I think, this Armenian girl really shouldn't have been a threat at this level. She's not really defending anything at all until the end of April, so plenty of opportunities in the new year to get herself up into the top 300. The majority of her points come from only 4 events (her year hasn't been quite as good as I first thought, but still a very positive and encouraging step forward), so if she can put together a few runs at $25k level she should be able to stabilise her position and hopefully kick on.

Anna's win today is her biggest ranking scalp since Pavlovic at Woking 25K in July 2010 and takes her into her first 25K singles QF since Vigo that same month ... it's been a long road, but it seems she really is now playing like the old pre-injury Anna again

It's great to have her back. She was out for so long I wondered if she'd give the pro tour another go. The early doubles success with Joss has no doubt provided a bit of additional court time and confidence, and it's great to see things falling into place on the singles court this week.
