European League Club Tennis

I think Marcus was playing for his French team again. Think hes played with the same team for years.

I've been completely focused on other stuff recently and have barely looked at the domestic French leagues

But, with the in-tray still ridiculously overflowing, I've got a G & T and packet of cheese and onion crisps, and thought - bugger it - it can wait .....

So, with Halep playing in the background and me sending evil vibes, I've been looking through the French tennis....

Women's

Soumeya Anane seems to be playing for Amicale Manin Sport Paris team in National Legaue 2

(she - I assume - also has another passport because she has a lovely EU flag next to her name)

Soumeya has played and lost two singles, but played and won three doubles (which ties in with her dubs profile)

Men's

In National 1, Dan Cox is playing for Ardresien as normal

On day 1, playing #1, he lost singles (to half-Brit Evan Furness) but won dubs

He then won on day 2, playing as #1, but lost in singles

And won both singles and dubs on day 3

In National 3, Marcus is still playing for Capdenac

Didn't play on days 1 and 2, but came and held up the fort well on day 3, playing as #1, winning singles easily, and winning dubs

National 4

Brilliant to see Josh Goodall still there, playing as #1 and winning easily, twice in singles and once in doubles - bet those serves are being heard 3 miles away

Similarly Neil Pauffley is there, only on one day but playing as #1 and winning for Dracennois in singles (but losing in dubs)

there may be others too but the list is SO long..... I'll have another look later...

Soumeya Anane got a win in singles yesterday in the French National League !

Which must be quite a suprise for her

AND she was playing someone ranked two levels above her, AND her team won

So well done, Soumeya

Dan Cox won his singles, which was the only point his team got, so well done that man

Marcus also turned up, played #1 for Capdenac, and scored a super win over Pablo Adujar (who is CH 32)

That also was the only point the team got, as Pablo and partner got their revenge in the doubles

Josh Goodhall got a win in both singles and doubles and pretty much single-handedly got his team the draw

And Neil Pauffley turned out for Dracennois too, and won his singles, though not the dubs
