Bedene was playing county cup today, retired against Sean Thornley but returned to win his doubles.

That saves me having to go back and check the French site smile

He played the first two league days over there and I was surprised to see he didn't play the next two.

Sounds as though he got injured and isn't quite over it yet ..... cry

Tara's team drew 3-3 today.

Tara lost her singles, 6-4 6-7 6-1, to Silvia Soler Espinosa

However, she won her doubles (playing with Conny).

Their team has finished 3rd out of 5.

So won't play off for the title (winner of poule A against winner of poule B).

But won't be demoted either.

Jonathan Gray turned out in the singles as well as the doubles this weekend in the elite DN1A league:

He played number 4, and defeated Marc Auradou 6-4 6-4

He also won his doubles, playing with Clement Larriere (the brother of Victoria who won the title at Roehampton this year).

The team won 6-0.

The French league will kick off in a few weeks but the teams are all posted.

The fact that a guy is listed doesn't necessarily mean that they're playing (as we've seen in previous years) because only players who are listed at inscription can play so, if the club isn't sure or the player hasn't even been in contact, they'll be listed, just so the club has the option of playing them later on.

But there are definitely a few new names of note, and a few who have disappeared.

The top elite divisions (1ere and DN1A) have finished, as above. But they're small. So this is the main bulk:

MEN

DN1B:

St Malo - Scott Clayton, Stuart Parker and Patrick Ogier

DN2:

Annecy - Billy Harris
Pompadour - Matt Short
St. Germain - Jamie Whiteford

DN3:

Ardres - Dan Cox
CTC - Farris
Vignal - Damon Roberts
Rognac - James Allemby
Sablais - Stefan Sterland Markovic
Clamart - Rich Gabb, Jonny O'Mara and Jamie Feaver

DN4:

Beauchamp - Josh Goodall
Goussainville - Keelan
Capdenac - Marus Willis and Jack Carpenter
Villiers - Maniel Bains
de la Grande Motte - Jack Oswald
Le Relecq - Dave Rice

Amicale Manin - Mila Marinkovic
Stade Clermontois - Lisa W

In the top division that plays in Spring, DN1B, young British, but French-based, Stuart Parker (who played a Challenger last year) clocked up an excellent win against Capone, ex 591 in the world, now age 31.
Stuart also won his dubs and the team won 5-1

In Div 2, Billy Harris wet his whistle very well in French league tennis, winning 0 & 1, playing number 2 (although, admittedly, against a pretty lowly ranked guy)

Billy and Hugo Voljacques also won their dubs easily and the team won 6-0

Also, in div 2, Matt Short put in solid performances, winning both singles and doubles, and the team won 5-1

There are still results left to come in Div 3

But in Div 4, Josh Goodall turned out and put in really tidy performance, beating Paul Woerner, 3&1. Paul is currently ATP 954 and has an excellent domestic ranking
Lost out in two t-bs in the dubs, but the team won 4-2

Keelan also played one in his team, and won comfortably, although against a lower guy. He lost his dubs. Team 3-3. (Pete Bothwell also plays for the same team and won both his matches)

No sign on Marcus in Capdenac () but Jack Carpenter did the business, playing one, and winning both matches, and team won 4-2

Jack Oswald played doubles for his team but they lost, as did the team.

In the women's, in Div 2:

Eden Silva played and won easily, singles and dubs. Team won 6-0

Maia lost a heart-breaker, 4-6 7-5 6-1, against youngster (born 2000) Molinaro from Luxembourg who's WTA 878
Won the dubs in a MTB, though, but the team lost 2-4

In Div 4, Lucy Brown won her singles, 4&4, and her doubles, and the team thereby got a draw.

Nice to see Dan Cox getting two wins too, and the team drew 3-3

And the British lads did well together at Chartres:

Jonny O, playing 2, won 6-1 6-2

and Richard Gabb, playing 1, won 6-4 7-5

Played together to win the dubs. And that was the only three points the team got, with a 3-3 draw at the end.

Dave Rice also turned up for his club but unfortunately lost 6-4 2-6 6-4

and lost his doubles, and the team lost 0-6

In the women's league matches today:

Maia L (playing number 1) won her singles easily against a not too well ranked player. Also her dubs, and team won 5-1.

Eden Silva (playing number 2) also won her singles, 6-1 6-4, against Florence Haring who is not too well ranked now but is ex-WTA 213.

Eden+ also won her doubles, team won 4-2

Lucy Brown (playing 1) picked up a super win, beating Kassandra Desvesne (born '99), ranked WTA 932, in three sets.
Unfortunately, she lost the dubs and the team lost 2-4

In the men's league matches in France, best win of the day (in terms of opponent beaten) goes to Josh Goodall, by a way:

D2:

Billy Harris, playing 3, won 1&1 and won his dubs, and team won 5-1

D3:

Dan Cox, playing 1, lost by a whisker (5-7 in the third), and the dubs, and the team drew 3-3
Damon Roberts, playing 1, won easily, both singles and dubs, and team won 6-0
Rich Gabb, playing 1, won, and
Jonny O, playing 2 won, and together they won their dubs, so team won 5-1

D4:

**Josh Goodall, playing 1, beat ATP 840, Timon Reichelt, in two sets. Also, won dubs and team won 5-1
Keelan O lost, although won his doubles and team lost 2-4

(match from DN1B not posted yet)

Super win indeed, she told me that she was 3-6 3-5 down, and came back to win 3-6 7-6 6-0  smile

Another good win for Lucy Brown today, beating Ainhoa Atucha Gomez [WR840] 6-7 6-4 7-6 for Senlis' only point in a one-sided 1-5 defeat. Looks like marathon running is beneficial !
