RE: Week 49 - ITF ($10K) - Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt Hard

Katy cruises to another win - that's a LOT of wins, dubs and singles, on the trot

QF: (7) Katy Dunne WR 706 def. (Q) Ilze Hattingh (RSA) WR 991 6-3 6-3

and into the 500s she goes . . .

She'll play ET Cadar in the semis who was singularly unimpressive last week on livestream against Em Salas and Katie B (although she may have more in her weaponry than she showed then, of course).

Let's hope ET gets to Go Home after the semi final.

A round dozen for Katy - 8 singles and 4 doubles wins in a row ... and that top 600 place secured with room to spare now

SF: (7) Katy Dunne WR 706 v Elena-Teodora Cadar (ROU) WR 561 (CH 552 in Aug)

I'm suprised that ET Cadar beat Liebens so easily.

Katy must have a decent chance of winning and even going on to win the title - Shymanovich potentially stands in her way, but wasn't that impressive beating EWS.

The Katy bandwagon rolls on:

SF: Harriet DART (GBR) / Katy DUNNE (GBR) def. Justine DE SUTTER (BEL) / Arabela FERNANDEZ RABENER (ESP) [2] 6-3 1-6 10-5

Final : Harriet DART (GBR) / Katy DUNNE (GBR) v Csilla BORSANYI (HUN) / Aminat KUSHKHOVA (RUS) [3]

and well done Harriet too !

Katy: "#juliediaries is back on as mum has just touched down in egypt! she texted me and i quote saying 'hash tag mad mum.' that is all."

I hope Katy isn't tempted to lose tomorrow just to have a good excuse to ban her mum from ever going to one of her tournaments again winkwink

Looks like Katy's either woken up or just figured out how to get to grips with ET's leftie swing - two breaks up, 3*-0 in the second

That was a good fight back from Katy. After going 3-0 up she lost her service, went to 3-2 *40-0, Deuce and looked likely to go back to 3-3 but held on a broke again, and again held on to win the set after being taken to deuce.

2-6 6-2 0-0*
